In celebration of what would have been The Bard of Montreal's 91st birthday, Robert Burke Warren's “I'm Your Man: A Birthday Tribute to Leonard Cohen” lights up FTC's intimate StageOne space. The evening will span Cohen’s entire career, from 60s classics like “Bird on the Wire” and “Suzanne,” to latter-day epics like “Everybody Knows,” “First We Take Manhattan,” and the little song that could, “Hallelujah.” RBW's Hudson Valley-based seven-piece band has performed this tribute to packed houses from Woodstock to NYC.
Robert Burke Warren is a musician, writer, actor, and teacher. His songs appear in movies, television, and on albums by Rosanne Cash, RuPaul, and rockabilly queen Wanda Jackson. As a globetrotting bassist in the pre-digital age, he toured extensively in an Econoline van. In the mid 90s, he played Buddy Holly in the West End musical Buddy: the Buddy Holly Story. He produces and performs in I’m Your Man: A Tribute to Leonard Cohen, The Bowie Birthday Bash, and More Than the Man in Black: An Evening of Johnny Cash. His books include rock novel, Perfectly Broken, and Cash on Cash: Interviews & Encounters with Johnny Cash. His Substack is Robert Burke Warren, Showfolk. He lives in Phoenicia, NY.
