The Jamie Saft Trio Jamie Saft- piano; Lindsey Horner- acoustic bass; Ben Perowsky- drums The Jamie Saft Trio performs music from a variety of sources- original compositions meet songs from the Great American Songbook. Featuring compositions by Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Curtis Mayfield, Stevie Wonder, and many others, the Trio blends classic acoustic piano trio styles with modern compositions. Featuring long time collaborators Lindsey Horner on acoustic bass and Ben Perowsky on drums, The Jamie Saft Trio continues the piano trio tradition gathering inspiration from Bill Evans, John Coltrane, Pharoah Sanders, and Thelonious Monk. A special guest appearance from colleague Rabbi Greg Wall will enhance the trio and connect community, spirituality, and positivity. Jamie Saft Trio has released a number of albums including "Astaroth- the Jamie Saft Trio Plays Masada Book II," "Trouble- The Jamie Saft Trio Plays Bob Dylan," "The New Standard," and "Loneliness Road feat. Iggy Pop." Recently included in the "Music For Youth Tribute to Bob Dylan" at Lincoln Center, the trio has enjoyed great success and glowing reviews for album releases and recent live performances. Jamie Saft's stylistic versatility, multi-instrumentalist capabilities, and production skills have been featured with Beastie Boys, Bad Brains, the B-52's, Laurie Anderson, John Zorn, Antony and the Johnsons, and Iggy Pop amongst many others. Saft was the pianist for the New York and Paris premiers of John Adams' opera "I Was Looking at the Ceiling and then I Saw the Sky" at Lincoln Center and MC93 Bobingy. Saft has recently composed a number of original film scores and music for television. Recent films scored include the Oscar nominated film "Murderball", Sundance Grand Jury Prize winner "God Grew Tired Of Us", and HBO documentary "Dear Talula".
